ABOUT LIFE INOFEED

Innovative Onsite Treatment of Food Related Wastes for Viable Production of Animal Feed

The main objective of LIFE-INOFEED is to develop and demonstrate an innovative, decentralized system for the sustainable valorisation of agri-food bio-waste into safe and marketable feed materials, within a circular economy framework.

By deploying autonomous on-site drying units powered by renewable energy, the project aims to reduce waste disposal, minimize transport-related emissions, recover valuable nutrients, and decrease dependence on conventional feed resources.

Ultimately, we seek to prove the technical feasibility, environmental benefits, and economic viability of a scalable solution that can be replicated across Europe.

Why LIFE-INOFEED matters

LIFE-INOFEED addresses a critical gap between waste generation and resource efficiency in the agri-food sector:

Every year, large volumes of bio-waste with significant nutritional value are underutilized or disposed of through low-value practices, while the livestock sector remains heavily dependent on imported feed materials with high environmental footprints.

LIFE-INOFEED introduces a decentralized, renewable energy-based solution that transforms these bio-waste streams into safe, marketable feed ingredients directly at the source.

THE OBJECTIVES OF LIFE-INOFEED
